Dvosha Carlsen — the one woman show behind Black Tie

It all began with my chocolate, marshmallow, and nut candy similar to the famous Elmer’s “Heavenly Hash” or also known as “Rocky Road” but so much better. I made this candy for family and friends for years, and my sons had repeatedly told me, “ You should go into business selling this stuff — it’s addicting!” Well, they are my sons. So, I would smile broadly and thank them for the compliment and just go on my way! But the Christmas of 2008 I gave my chocolates to Jeff, my hairdresser of forever, and another client of his Emeril Lagasse. They thought my candy was amazing! “Um” I thought to myself — and my candy business was launched!

We now hand make artisan chocolates and other treats for everyone in the world to love and with which to nurture their inner chocolate spirits. These fine chocolates can be eaten in a social atmosphere or in a closet where one can indulge, not feel guilty, nor be the subject of mockery by those who probably do the very same thing day after day after day! After all, chocolates are very personal and require the respect and dignity of being consumed in that manner. Only through this mutual respect can a genuine relationship between a delectable piece of fine chocolate and a chocolate lover be established and be everlasting. Remember, if you treat your chocolates well, your chocolates will treat you well!

Our focus is to introduce a new chocolate experience, provide excellence in product, give courteous service, and spread happiness and joy. We take pride in our motto, “True happiness is a bite of chocolate”.
